1935 Mickey Mouse watch

The Ingersoll Waterbury Clock Co. produced the first Mickey Mouse watch model for the Walt Disney Company in 1933. The watch was initially intended for boys and was priced at $3.25, although the price was later changed to $2.95 to make it more affordable. Mickey Mouse watches were also given to Disney shareholders in the 1930s as a gift and these watches are now collector’s items.

Ingersoll introduced new larger blue box packaging for this watch in the autumn of 1935. The difference between the 1933 first edition and this new edition in 1935 is the addition of "made in USA" on the hour 8 on the dial as well as smaller hour markers 5 & 7 which were placed under the knees of Mickey.

With the same design as the first Mickey Mouse watch, there is a subsidiary second dial with 3 Mickey Mouse on the run.

The bezel is bass and the case is nickle-plated . This  Ingersoll model is with leather straps and novelty Mickey charms placed on both sides of the black leather strap underneath the lugs. The dial measures 30mm.

The watch is overall in very good condition with minor cosmetic distractions. It has just been cleaned and serviced by our watch makers and has been keeping time.

The chromed metal Mickey charms are in excellent condition with almost all of their black color fill still in place. The black leather band is in moderate worn condition.
