This special Royal Air Force limited edition watch was launched in 1997 to commemorate the 1997 Hong Kong handover from Britain to China. Only 1997 pieces were issued worldwide and almost all watches were being reserved by collectors even before this edition was officially launched in the market.  The case back shows the air force squadron emblem with dates from 1924-1997. Similar emblem is embossed on the dial at 3 o'clock.

 

The 40mm case is made of stainless steel with 18K gold push down buttons. The bezel is of same material and has 18K gold accents. The dial is black in color with three chronograph sub-dials which are located at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. They represent a 12 hour counter, subsidiary seconds, and 30 minute counter respectively. A date window is also featured on the dial and is located at 3 o'clock. Crystal is sapphire with anti glare coating.It is fitted with a new Brietling black leather strap with Breitling signed stainless steel buckle.
